Habitat
Sour Cherries are native to Europe and southwest Asia. They were extremely popular with Persians & the Romans who introduced them into Britain before the 1st century AD.
Traditional Uses
Traditionally eaten or made into perserves, it is also used as an adhesive, a natural dye, gum, a decorative hedge, an oil and as wood.
Medicinal Uses
Sour cherries contain high levels of anthocyanins, that possess strong antioxidant properties. Antioxidents are important in the maintainence of good health.
